What the starting MOQ covers
The reference minimum is 50 pieces per style. That gives a workable production run for a base cap with a standard decoration direction.
The final minimum can differ when a project uses a special fabric, several color splits, a complex patch or individual packaging. These points should be confirmed in the quotation, not assumed from the headline number.
Why a color split matters
Each material and color combination has its own cutting and production setup. Five colors at 100 pieces each is a different production plan from one color at 500 pieces.
If the first order needs many colors, ask which combinations are practical at the target quantity and whether a smaller test run is possible.
Plan for the repeat order
Keep the approved material, color reference, artwork and packing details after the first delivery. A repeat order is easier when the specification is already documented.
Ask how the supplier handles material availability and color continuity before the second order, especially if it will be placed months later.
