Start with the conditions, not the decoration
For outdoor crews, the useful starting point is the working day: sun exposure, heat, dust, rain and how often the cap is washed. A lightweight cotton or performance fabric, a pre-curved visor and a stable crown are often more useful than a fashion-led shape.
If the cap is part of a uniform, agree the color against a physical reference and plan how replacement orders will match it. A clear color direction is more valuable than a long list of options.
